Now that we are officially into December and the last of the Thanksgiving turkey is making its way into sandwiches, we are gearing up for a big Christmas of private parties, dinner take-out packages, and eat-in dining reservations.

This year’s holiday menu for eat-in or take-out features our fresh honey glazed smoked hams and/or our popular smoked USDA turkeys (we smoked close to 200 last week for Thanksgiving customers). Also on the menu are sweet mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, steamed vegetables, Southwest style gravy, fresh rolls, and pumpkin pie. If I can remember it, we might even whip up some fresh cranberry sauce since I get a lot of flack each year for overlooking this part of the meal (my least favorite condiment unless the cranberry is going into a Ken’s Special).

Ahhhh with December comes the last week of NCAA Football, which means conference championships with BCS bowl implications for several teams. Here’s our plan for the weekend:

Don’t forget Bubba’s has been following the pros all season long with games all day on Monday (from Sunday’s schedule) and a replay of Monday Night Football every Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. Come in and request your favorite team or the game of the week! We have all games from the whole season on archive and ready to play at your request.
Bubba’s Expo Village Rock’n in the Events
Last week you saw my note regarding the Shanghai Harley Owner’s Group choosing Bubba’s as its meeting spot for their holiday ride. This turned out to be a pretty good sized gathering of riders and equipment with more than 130 motorcycles turning up for the party! The sidewalks were glistening with chrome and the cops were running for the hills from what I understand. I personally am sorry I missed it but I suspect there’ll be more of these in the future as the HOG flags have been planted at Bubba’s Expo Village and the riders have vowed to return.
This week brings us the Annual Shanghai Marathon, which finished not too far from Bubba’s Expo Village. A number of runners have already reserved tables (and chairs) where they will enjoy a Happy Hour and barbeque recovery from the run. If you are running the event, drop into Bubba’s with your number for a complementary recovery beer on Dan!
And while you’re there, pick up your tickets to Simple Plan, which plays the Mercedes Benz Arena on January 7th in the cool Mixing Room venue.
