2011 5th Anniversary

Bubba’s Turns Five!

It’s hard to imagine that five years has passed since we opened China’s first authentic American-style barbeque joint, and five years since we started doing things with a little Texas swagger here in Shanghai….like bringing you chili and barbeque cook-offs, NCAA football tailgate parties, great Southern rock with a little country roll, Fourth of July Music Fests, Chris Kelley orchestrated float trips “Comal River style,” horseshoe games in the park, corn hole tournaments (thanks Captain Jack), and of course true low- and slow- cooked barbequed meats.

Over the years I personally have met thousands of folks who’ve traveled from near and far to visit Bubba’s and experience this little slice of Texas in modern day China. Countless numbers of these customers have become personal great friends of mine and this has been the most rewarding result of opening Bubba’s.
For that, I really thank all of you for the patronage, support, and good times.

To help mark this five-year milestone, we’re blowing it out over Fourth of July weekend with an anniversary party not to be missed!

Join us on Sunday, July 3rd, for a full day of cheap eats (barbeque of course), 25 rmb drafts all day long, and live music at both Bubba’s locations. Our musical guests will do sets between Noon and 5 p.m. with Hong Qiao featuring the music of Rock Suey and Bubba’s Expo Village featuring the music of Shawn Watters.
