Dog days of summer appear to be here and I just got my notice of the upcoming Annual Float Trip. I guess I can stop building that ark that I thought would be needed after all the rain we’ve had….or maybe I can just bring it to the float trip with two beers of each kind on the planet in tow!

We’ve got a busy weekend of Independence Day celebrations coming up starting tomorrow with the American Chamber’s Fourth of July picnic in She Shan. If you’re coming out for the celebration, be sure and stop by, say hello, and get one of Bubba’s famous pulled pork sandwiches (included with your ticket), or sign up for one of our partner’s VIP home delivery cards which will allow you to enjoy home delivery of many of the premium imported meats and seafoods that Bubba’s chooses to serve to customers in our restaurants. Slovenia vs USA live @ Bubba’s Tonight!  No Cover! 

First up… a pat on the back for the staff at Bubba’s for once again coming in first place in the recent “rib crawl,” where nearly 40 people traveled the city in search of the Best Ribs in Shanghai. This is our second time to come in first in this competition, and when you slot in places like Di Shui Dong and Guyi (2nd Place, Hunan style), the competition is pretty good. Other places on the trail included Pinnacle Peak (3rd), South Beauty, Southern Belle, and Malone’s.

This is just a short and sweet note to wish everyone a happy May holiday! Despite the holiday, Bubba’s will remain open all weekend where the TVs will tuned to NBA and NHL playoff games, with special showings at Bubba’s of the Spurs vs Mavs game at 6 p.m. tonight and the Lakers vs Oklahoma City on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

We will, however, close on Monday in respect of the holiday and to give our great staff a much needed break. We will resume normal operating hours on Tuesday at 11 a.m.

Hello fans of Bubba’s! First item of business…..we are open and rocking in the Expo Village. I’ve already met a number of cool cats in the new location, those guys and gals working on the pavilions inside the Expo getting them ready for May Day. Things are looking great over there, and many customers are anxious to see our new place but I need to explain how this will work before you start emailing me back to make reservations: Bubba’s new location is in the Village where the workers, VIPs, and Heads of State will stay during their visits to Shanghai and the Expo.

Join the Bubba's race team this coming Sunday for a day at the track to enjoy the Shanghai Grand Prix. For 200 per person you will get transportation to and from the track, cold beer/water on the bus, and lunch featuring Bubba's special smoked and stacked ham sandwich. So far, the weather forecast looks positive with clouds, 18C, and no rain expected.

At the track we will meet up with the good folks from Just Beer and their party bus patrons for a little tailgating fun....have a few beers, share some laughs, and play cornhole until the race starts.

Just a quick note that Bubba's will open for the live game between Butler and Duke on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m., and we'll also do a same day delayed replay at 6 p.m.

It's also a big week for the Bubba's family as it looks like we'll start pouring beers and sizzling some burgers at our new location in the Expo Village. Many of you have expressed interest in checking out our new spot, so just let us get our feet solid on the ground and we'll organize some type of party bus trip to Bubba's II.

Four teams....three games. That's what we've been getting up early for, cutting out of work to catch replays, and shedding tears over brackets a' broken. Congrats to fans of Mich State, Duke, West Virginia, and Butler. WHO??? ha ha

Spring is definitely here. I know because I'm really starting to get itchy about firing up the Texas pit smoker in front of Bubba's and give about 50 pounds of meat some tender loving care! And now that the construction in front of Bubba's is about cleaned up, the outdoor atmosphere is going to be much better! That's line 10 folks if you're wondering, and it stops right in front of our restaurant practically.
